We don’t claim to know what you are cooking up this week but it is the best grilling conditions of the season so far. The Boys have the Russell ctovetop set up on the big patio on the west side of the building. They seem to be serious this afternoon, concentrating on producing elaborate displays of perfectly cooked sausages, kielbasy and franks.

Things have already started for the celebration tomorrow and i wanted to have things organized to feed a couple dozen people under thankfully delightful clear blue Heat Dome skies and a bright, cheery sun.

Which led to hot dogs, beer, a variety of wines in both colors and the festive mixings that make a great lunch.

Which I am not going to knock myself out about. I could do all this personally, like the onion sauce and bake the rolls and find the very best Shenandoah-raised iberico pork hot dogs. Or, you could just call Kowalonek’s and tell them to do a load of smoked Kielbasy with sides for twenty and send a couple of The Boys on a road trip up north. i can do the cole slaw here without much trouble and there will be plenty to jam into the fridge when things are done this afternoon and we can worry about the burgers tomorrow.

The key to the buffet is merriment, you know?
