Trump Locks In ICE Funding Through End of Presidency After House Passes $70B Package

We missed this one in the myriad of issues sweeping over us. Remember this from the middle of last week?

It may be bigger than the Iran deal, if that is what happens later today. We have allowed the current thicket of crises in progress to obscure things months in advance. Like the mid-term elections, which is all anyone has been talking about, with different years inserted, since Mr. Trump got elected the first time.

That is what caused whatever to happen in 2020 that got us that amiable idiot in the Oval Office until Mr. Trump was able to produce a number so big it dwarfed what the machine in Chicago could come up with.

Anyway, this controversy over candidates and their manifold foibles took our eye off the election that will determine if the current Administration will be regarded as a success or failure. Sound like a big deal? Imagine for a moment that the World’s Sole Remaining Super Power took its foot off the accelerator pedal and instead of world peace and stability we might head for something else.

The Boomers are pretty relaxed about it, since we have looked at the acturary tables and do not think we are going to be around to suffer the consequences of what is going to happen next. It is coming, though, and our sympathies go out to the Zooms who are going to have to live with it.

Our folks thought they had paid a great price for the world they left to us. As it turns out, they didn’t know the half of it!
