Socotra house Logistics Staff brings up emergency supplies for the intelligence Reorganization just starting over at Langley!

We started with this item this morning from the ongoing churn of astonishing issues in this curious place we all share: “President Trump said he wants incoming acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte to “start the process” of firing intelligence Community officials.

The news is not quite a big as the removal of long-term wind-bag Scott Pelley over at iconic news magazine 60 Minutes, but it does show a bit about the depth and breadth of the change swirling around us.

About that, we are experimenting with converting some of our Interns into digital hybrids, but it is too soon too tell if there is anything useful in having a squad of hyperactive undergraduate digital assistants.

We are pleased to be retired. The old muscle memory of having to get up and do something tom attempt to fix things is still with is, but we have learned now to simply feel it, shrug and then laugh at what drove us through all that has come before. Bill Pulte currently serves as the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. He will keep that job while laying waste to the IC. He has 210 days in an acting capacity before he has to go back to solving the housing crisis.

At that point we think he might name our Section Chief Miles as the new DNI.
Mr. Trump summed up the thrust of his new work, saying: “I’d like to see it smaller. I think there are a lot of people in there that shouldn’t be there.”

As acting Director of National Intelligence, Mr. Pulte overseas 18 US Intelligence Agencies, some of them so wealthy that employees can remove hundreds of bars of gold unquestioned from the vault while they are ostensibly doing the nation’s work. So, let the games commence! If they don’t pick Miles to be the new Director, we have a few other fine candidates right here!

In the meantime, we may just stop by the vault and make sure everything is OK, you know?
