When History Can Wait Until Supper
With the situation in the Strait of Hormuz apparently on pause—for the moment—we’re taking advantage of the lull to conduct another important operation.

Pulled Beef Roast Wednesday.

Rocket has command of the main effort, tending two three-pound Wyoming Pure beef roasts rubbed generously with Mama’s BBQ Sprinkles and a healthy dusting of Traeger ‘Que seasoning before giving them the slow-and-steady treatment.

Once they’re fork tender, the beef gets shredded for towering pulled-beef sandwiches served on big brioche rolls.

Meanwhile, Holly and I have been assigned to the supporting mission.

That means laying out the buffet with all the fixings:
Cowboy beans
Fresh coleslaw

Plenty of sauces
Big brioche rolls
And enough napkins to survive a proper barbecue assault.
It’s one of those small celebrations that reminds us history isn’t made entirely by summits, sanctions, missile strikes, or anxious headlines.

Sometimes history pauses long enough for friends to gather around a buffet, tell a few stories, and enjoy a good meal.

If the peace holds for another few hours, we’ll happily declare today’s operation an unqualified success.
