Dad’s WW II Cartoons: “Gremlin Gazette’

Afternoon, Gentle Readers!

A curious thing happened after a cheery celebratory digestive id inadvertently sloshed itself over the old Laptop. Although it eventually dried out over the months of June and July, but the office situation was becoming a major irritant, There was a hasty effort to replace it, and an exciting time of toggling between small hard drives and the ChatGPT program began to turn up folders and direcgories I had not seen in four or five generations of computers.

These were in files dating to their discovery in a folder in Dad’s paper records after his passing in 2012, I photographed then with the idea I would do a book of Dad’s pre-1950s art, but the near simultaneous departure of Mom made things pile up. i have no idea where the originals are now.

These portraits were the ones in Dad’s office and the Boys room when we were growing up.

The images on the left and right are particularly evocative since the Marine has been on my wall since I was a kid, and Dad did the Churchill portrait as a Christmas gift the year Winston passed on.
