Great Horned Owlet and Pallas’s Cat

You know why Miles had his hands full with the 0900 Production Meeting. His watch sections had agreed to gather at that hour, a third coming in, a third departing with some yawns, and Splash leading a group having drinks that mingled Flat Yank coffee with an extra stimulant that left them curiously energized and relaxed before the tray of Taco Puffs Dee had left over fro yesterday chaotic meetings.

The thing in the Gulf was juggling like the Great Horned Owlet featured in the Cowboys State Daily and a feline cat named for it’s 1700’s discoverer Peter Pallas, who used the latin term to describe them “Otocolobus Manul.”

We don’t understand the news any more than you do, but there is a reason for our collective confusion. Some Iranians have been violating the terms of the interim fragile Cease Fire. That raises the reasonable question of whether there is an internal problem with some Iranian factions that do not accept Peace. We think that would be well represented by Peter’s Cat, and her look across species at dinner.

We will not attempt any particular analysis of the situation, since this is the only the second day after we thought the world was going to end. That is why the picture on the front fold of the digital paper struck us as important. We feel like the owlet, alert and unwilling to unfurl our wings since we are not quite alert enough to fly.

We will be, considering the distance from airbases in Missouri and targets on the other side of the Earth.

We may see some of that this afternoon. Alternatively, the new regime over in Iran may still be attempting to find out who is in the new regime and who needs to be quieted. And if they are talking to the right owls back here.

It appears a demonstration of force might happen today. We will see. It could be kinetic and it could be something wild and digital. In this time of uncertainty, we will try to keep our eyes open!

Errata Notes: Old collective Socotra Address group may be in danger of corruption. Let us know. Artemis II crew is headed home to splash down off San Diego tomorrow. From Earth and Sky, this is one of the most magical and powerful astrophysical weeks in history!
