Well, there should be a practical means of getting on with this year now half done and sigh in relief. The President, like him or not, put on a performance we could not have managed in our youth as jets thundered across several national panoramas.

The severe weather alert popped up in the late afternoon while the skies were still bottomless blue, so drama built through Happy Hour as more than a hundred thousand celebrants ebbed and flowed to take up station on the mall for drama that lasted through the night.

And things normally would start lurching back to normal this morning. But it won’t. This is only another break before global drama continues tomorrow with whatever that soccer thing happens.

The USMNT will be facing off against Belgium with an additional point of drama in the controversial one match red-card suspension of US star Folarin Balogun.

Drama? Good heavens!

We are pleased we are unlikely to be around for the next time we add fifty years to the calendar. This is one for the ages!
