In Ukraine the war grinds on
Bakhmut, Marinka, et al,
Soldiers died by the thousands
Buildings pounded into rubble
Where will it end, this nasty war,
Everyone’s really beginning to wonder,
Meanwhile, at the front lines,
The guns continue to thunder.
More wonder weapons flow to the battle,
From the gods of war comes derisive laughter,
More slaughter but no solution,
So much for Wunderwaffe.
Still the Arms of Krupp rings true,
Smedley Butler told it square,
War is a racket that pays quite well,
Ever higher profits per share.
At home lawfare increases,
And a former President is indicted,
Another insists he did nothing wrong,
Are we all just dimwitted?
Inflation up, inflation down,
Somehow Unemployment still looks rosy,
Clearly the numbers are being diddled,
Probably doesn’t pay to be too nosey.
The Fed as usual seemed lost,
This one trick pony ill at ease,
But the US Gov declared COVID done,
So long to that damned disease…
But then just like a bad movie,
COVID came home to roost,
After all, Election’s just a year away,
Need to give those excuses a boost!
Some folks have looked at COVID numbers,
Seems the Govie facts were all out to sea,
You can always believe whatever you want,
Just don’t ever believe the CDC.
What about Africa, what is going on?
Niger, Sudan, Gabon, et al,
A half dozen crazy coups,
They all have their rationale.
But in the end the same old story,
Of more Power-Hungry colonels,
Promising the Moon and the stars,
While they deal with the same old evils.
And now another war’s begun,
The scourge of war come to Negev,
Terror strikes, evil has its day,
From the desert all the way to Kiev.
The truly evil scum of Hamas,
Yet there are those who defend their acts,
Twisting reality into make believe,
And speaking lies as if the facts.
It seems like more war is brewing,
Evil folks – you know who:
Mad Mullahs and the CCP,
Hamas and Putin too.
And now missiles popping off at ships,
Over in the warm Red Sea,
Laboon knocks some missiles down,

Like cockroaches that won’t go away,
Always seems to be more,
No matter what some might pray,
Man has a taste for war.
In Washington more secrets leaked,
And Tucker Carlson was fired,
But perhaps Fox News outfoxed themselves,
The results weren’t the ones desired.
Bud Light tried a new approach,
A lot of folks were quite unhappy,
I bet the Clydesdales were a tad confused,
Turns out their sales were pretty crappy…
Khinzhal missiles target Kiev,
Patriots light up the dawn,
Swatting down those Russkie missiles,
Pretty good news for Raytheon…
And what about dear old Harvard,
What did her president say?
Conservatives a “no-no”
But anti-Semitism is okay?
That must be in error,
Next thing they’d give plagiarism a pass,
And that would never EVER be true,
Under the banner of Veritas…
The Durham investigation finally ended,
A nothing burger or a stolen an election?
A president sand-bagged by the DOJ,
Another president sandbagged by, well, a sand bag…
Sports is getting crazier,
And the money! Oh me, Oh my,
Boys and Girls are boxing,
And 700 million for Shohei!
What about those Russian folks,
While Putin still leads that nation,
His “friends” are having troubles
With his policy of defenestration…
And we said good-bye to quite a few,
Dick Butkus, Mrs. Carter, Henry K.,
And Lovely Tina Turner too,
May they all rest in peace we pray.
And we got a new Speaker,
Actually we had a few,
But Speaker Johnson seems to have settled in,
He has an awful lot to do!
Budget, Budget, Toil and Fudget,
The House and Senate must not forget,
It’s their job to pass a budget,
Not just add to the national debt.
And a hundred billion supplement,
Ukraine, Israel, the Border,
Remember it’s just Money!
Rap that Gavel! Call for Order!
Gonna be an exciting year,
Oh, yeah it’s election season,
Riots and wars and rumors of wars,
I’m sure everyone will act with reason!
So, hold on tight, this will be exciting,
