Legend has it that the rainbow was Yahweh’s promise to Noah that he would never flood the earth again. The ancient world had been cleansed and its rebirth had started

Key Westers of the late 20th century morphed this recreation myth into its official slogan some quarter century ago – “One Human Family.” Islanders live and flourish in peace and harmony with no division but mutual respect and appreciation of each other’s gifts as well as of their differences.

This coral speck paradise has a rainbow of people from its white knights, ladies of the night, men with red hands, sparkling orange drinks, lush green palms, yellow sugar crack, blue yonder of its skies and seas, indigo boys and violet femmes. Their tales are well known to islanders, having seen them up close or read them in the papers. Their stories can be alternately grotesque, disturbing, maddening, self-indulgent, brilliant, intelligent, hilarious, divine and loving.

Yesterday evening, W and Marlow observed a long lasting double rainbow as the skies cleared after a brief rain shower. The double rainbow’s secondary arc was fainter and above the primary arc. They noticed something they had never seen – the secondary bow’s order of colors was reversed with red on the inner side of the arc.
