Bay of Falcons

We won’t even try to start the morning meeting this close to lunch. There’s a growing sentiment to simply move Happy Hour forward — something more accommodating to deal with the increasing number of interesting, or threatening, meme-streams flowing around. Splash and Rocket thought “ceyo” might mean an inlet or bay, and started their pitch on the shootings in Cuba as a “Bay of Falcons” reprise to the one of Pigs that has haunted relations for 65 years. The Iran thing is in year 46, so a lot of old stuff bubbling freshly.

The Iran situation is showing strain. There are rumors that General Dan “Raizin” Caine has misgivings about another protracted struggle far from home — especially with so much else on fire just a stone’s throw from Key West.

The SOTU covered a number of topics, but did not announce two wars already in progress. Or three.

It is hard to sort out the oil tankers from the drugs — and the one unfolding between the Executive Branch and the State of Minnesota, soon to expand to California under the leadership of the Vice President.

The key to that last conflict may be the scale and duration of a system of fraud and deceit that has been building for decades — and which will actively resist attempts to uproot it. With battalions of angry Teachers Union proctors and Pension Fund managers.

And old Jeff Epstein may not have compromised the President as some hoped, but he had a remarkable run of disruption. In addition to cabinet secretaries and the President of Harvard, he may have brought down the Norwegian Economics Ministry — and perhaps even the King of England.

We’re going to go to UNH and see who’s going to do what.

The Boomers are still talking about the Bay of Pigs sixty-five years ago — and wondering whether we’re trying to do the same thing to Iran now.

The Zoomers are more focused on the domestic front — and whether there could be an amphibious “assault” on Havana by the millions of Cuban-Americans who might want to visit.

Armed.

More on all that tomorrow.
