The Air Was Filled With Footballs!

We are going to keep this short and to the point, since they are suiting up over in London, England, for an unlikely kick-off in a little over an hour. The Conference Room on the 4th deck of The Trillium in Fairfax is still strewn with some of the leftovers from the day-long Sports presentation on the flat-screen on the south wall.

Want some magic? The Hoosiers and Buckeyes beat the snot out of one another for 58 minutes before an elegant arc of twisting pigskin flew perfectly into the arms of Nick Marsh. Almost perfectly.

Hoosier fans went wild until the replay showed Nick was a matter of inches from eternal glory and the 22-game win streak was over.

The Conference Room had not settled into order before the screen shifted to the most dramatic view of Ann Arbor’s Big House Stadium flashed on for two teams whose hostility was apparent in the near riot on the sidelines in the first half. The EFFING Wolverines held on against a fierce Penn State 4th quarter, and now will have to face the Insouciant Hoosiers next week.

But with all that drama, the afternoon was not going to fade without another last second flash of emotion, people riding to their feet in amazement:

We don’t have any dogs in that fight, except to image what the emotion was like in South Bend!

We dined well through the nerly six hours of game time, and there are some Buffalo Chicken left-overs that got fried up with fritters to go with the Black Rifle Coffee this morning since things are already moving toward kick-off in London:

I asked Rocket to do a slow-cook roast divided between the7 Quart Crock-Pots so we can have sammies and casserole sides later in the afternoon, since we will celebrate memories of partying in Olde Blighty and cheering for our Jags from days in Jax!

Have a magnificent Crisp and Golden Sunday! And may the air be filled with hope for the season ahead!
