It is New Years! It is a day we used to celebrate with smiles on the little budget staff nestled in the bowels of the big five-sided building a shade less than fourteen miles away from the Trillium Picnic Table. We used to do a whimsical sort of party with a glass of wine to celebrate an artificial holiday and sometimes wear those little cone-shaped holiday hats.

Today, we’re covering the continuing general war in the Middle East as Gaza continues its strange resistance to both the indeingeonous Palestinians and the IDF. The continuing bloodshed is poignant, but it has been going on now for twenty years as the last American combat troops depart Iraq.

Good news? Fiscal Year-2026 is done and now in the trash bin. It was fun, but the looming fight about the election and the possibility we will spend the next two years they literally nothing to drink subjecting the current President to two years of fruitless Impeachment hearings will be tiresome.

The Israelis are still agitated about the highjacking yesterday. It was a moment of spontaneous collective heroism that will stand as something remarkable for all time. Or t least until it is our time. Be ready to stand when called!

But there are a lot of those in progress, you know? Happy New Year!
