Socotra Afternoon Edition: No Kings 3!

We have, as the President has often remarked, already won the conflict.
Sadly, we are not referring to the continuing conflict overseas. What appears to be happening in that regard is that the people of Persia have been led by a savage branch of militant Islamist, one committed to the triumph of their version of the three Patriarchal faiths that have rule much of the globe in a series of spheres of influence and faith across more than two millenniums of sunrises.

The conflict now has ground on for about 1,400 years, and the nature of thisphase is part of the long backdrop to our featured episode in the drama. Here in NoVA, we are surrounded by symbols. The Cherry Blossoms were at peak before the rains yesterday, and the clear cool skies today will provide some nice viewing. If you have not gone to see them yet, ACT NOW.

And of course it is not just looking at the pink ends on the dark branches of the graceful trees. There are a bunch of partisan people doing other things besides observing the beauty of nature. They are out all over our side of the Potomac over throwing the King.

No, don’t chuckle. These folks are convinced they are opposing what they call “Masked secret police terrorizing our communities.” We think they are referring to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers who are trying to round up some of the people who are committing horrific crimes against innocent Americans who should be safe.

They also oppose the action against Iran of course, and insist our First Amendment rights and Freedom to Vote are under attack as rising costs are pushing families to the brink of despair. They have identified the man who they claim wants to ‘rule over us as a tyrant,’ and have put up signs condemning him on the overpasses over I-395.

We got started early and enjoyed a winding Uber journey from North Fairfax down through McLean and over Route 50 east where a thickening crowd of people lined both sides of the wide boulevard. It was hard to discern which of the Spring Break, Easter and Passover celebrations were being honored/ Or attacked. It was all part of the merriment of Spring.

There are several messaging streams all out on display this afternoon, and we can feel the emotion about airport lines and Spring Break, the 40th Anniversary of Mr. Days Sports Bar, and the overthrow of the elected monarch.

We have simply decided to go with the various strands of emotions and just go over to Mr. Days place over in Clarendon near the old Big Pink headquarters building where some of our Zoomers still going to school have the three office-crash pads.

We assume things will get a little warmer in the week to come as we prepare to watch the overthrow of a King, the renewal of another and attempt of another to throttle the chokepoint of world commerce.

It looks like an interesting Spring and Summer are coming as we prepare for rational and thoughtful campaigns for the coming Mid-term elections in eight months.

It felt good just saying that, since we know it will have nothing like that, just noise and Orange Man Bad at the top of some voices on the highway abutment over by the Metro stop. This could be fun.
