How the heck did it get to be Wednesday again? Dog Days of August and the uneasy realization that the pool is going to close in less than two weeks. At least one problem is deferred: Congress is back home raising money, and not much is happening here in the muddy flats by the Potomac. Well, that is not true, but much of the hoopla has been about statues to dead white people and vehicular homicide.
And a Navy that appears to have some systemic Operations & Maintenance problems that are probably extent in the other services, based on nearly a decade of stress and neglect.
But there is something about a collision at sea and the loss of young life that is really dramatic. The total in the 7th Fleet Area of Operations- our old home- is now 17.
Remember those kids- and their grieving families- in your prayers.
