Here come northern political spiders
Crawling up and down our streets and houses’ walls
They’s trying
To boost their parties’ voter hauls

Boll weevils left the north, Lord, not even saiyng “fare ye well.” Lordie lord
Crossed Virginia and the Carolinas, gonna give Georgia hell. Lordie lord
Well, we saw these door to door weevils a-circling in local Georgia air. Lordie lord
The next time we seed em, Lord, carpet baggin political weevils bothering families next door. Lordie lord
Postscript: Yeah, forty plus years ago we had our blue dogs and right minded southern Democrat boll weevils; but, they dint plague our front porches, eat our food or take our stuff.

There weren’t any Republicans in George Washington’s day. No Republican or Democrat canvassers, no Boll Weevils, no income taxes, no cover charges, no disarmament treaties, no luncheon or book clubs, no stop lights, no static at all , no commutes, no head or tail winds.
