Perhaps brunch? Certainly a respite from the cares of raising the next generation.<\/p>\n<p>Mom has been gone now since January of 2012. That first Mother\u2019s Day without her was all still too raw, and the joint funeral with Dad still incomplete. I think last year the realization that there was no one to call finally penetrated to my consciousness. I had thought about cards before dismissing the idea. The Sunday finally came and went, leaving me feeling empty and a little lost.<\/p>\n<p>I wondered if it would be easier this year, and I have to say it is not.<\/p>\n<p>I keep wanting to reach for the phone to call her and wish her the best for the day.
