Dierdre is off on what she hopes will be a sunnier Memorial Day up in her home state of Michigan. That left Keith, her volunteer Sous Chef, Camping Department Deputy in Charge (SCCD-DIC,Vol).
\nWe start with a tip: if it looks like the world might be in a period of swift dramatic change, try to keep the larders and cellars well managed. In other words, keep your eyes open. All levels of society, global conflict down to the sourcing of our dinner.<\/p>\n

That sums up the production schedule for the rest of the holiday since there is improbable stuff happening t all the levels with remarkable speed. The flat screen on the North Wall says they will announce terms for an Iran deal any moment.<\/p>\n

We are cautiously optimistic but have learned to view these things the way they do, which is to play for time and opportunity to beat you. We are hoping this peace will be strong enough to last until we are in our graves over at Arlington. We are going to ask for another one of those frosty things!<\/p>\n

\nAfter some discussion over whatever Vapor was pouring out of the jugs trom the blender, we decided that the overall scheme by Section Leader Miles had merit. He told Dierdre to craft a series of basic lessons for the Zooms in our crowd to do just a few things honorably.<\/p>\n

That took a mojito spun briskly for thought from Splash. \u201cLooks like we may have a big Peace Celebration dinner coming up and these pork chops meet the bill for victory food. The beginners can start with a simple red sauce we can jazz up.”<\/p>\n

“And make enough to freeze. This would be the fifth or sixth Big Iran Deal we have lived through and they have cheated on all of them,” said Vapor, with a crooked grin. “We can assume they have started again even before this one is announced.”<\/p>\n

Splash nodded. “Start with a red sauce. Everyone needs one, even if it it includes some cans of Ragu to go with fresh onions, mushrooms, peppers and a generous spice rack from Amazon that has everything a fresh-person would need as the base for a ground beef pasta sauce, or anything you can make in a big pot to feed a lot of folks. Parmesan crusted pork chops are a savory dish to start.<\/p>\n
