This is one of those mornings when Dierdre did not have time to braid her hair. Holly was boisterous and some of the Salts had started their luncheon festivities early. The event in Washington about things in Louisiana will spill over in Virginia and Florida and all the other states that have embarked on state-level redistricting schemes designed to avoid the Federally-mandated US census held every ten years.<\/p>\n

The state-level redistricting is advertised as temporary, but the ruling from the Supreme Court is that the justification for the redistricting was to create a new Louisiana 5th Congressional district which seems to follow river beds and racial neighborhoods in a narrow wandering swath from the Gulf up toward Oklahoma. The Supremes just said you can’t do it, and we don’t know yet what impact it will have on all the other places that had their ballots- with or without photo ID- will count for anything.<\/p>\n

\nThey said this was going to be an interesting Spring, didn’t they? Just wait and see what is next. It is Bethany’s last day in the Trillium Salon and the line is starting to form up down in the Lobby!<\/p>\n
