Socotra Proof of Life<\/p>\n

An abridged version of yesterday\u2019s segment of the adventure, then Arrias and a muffled silence\u2026<\/p>\n

I was goint to inlude the medical notes about the surgeyyesterday which seems to have gone well. Today less shooting pain in my leg, so a great release. That is my proof of life for today, more once they tell it worked. There was some amazing stuff in the transition yesterday on the Hill and we are attempting too deal with that \u201creturn to normalcy\u201d meme that Harding used in his campain against the Edith Wilson Aministration in1920. He was shot by a deranged citizen.<\/p>\n

Now for Arrias and his muse:
\nMuffled Silence<\/p>\n

A silent world in the dark,<\/p>\n

Steps swallowed by the new-fallen snow,<\/p>\n

Thick clouds hang low overhead,<\/p>\n

My kitchen light dimmed, a pale yellow glow.<\/p>\n

The dark trees now in cloaks of white,<\/p>\n

And a dozen shades of gray,<\/p>\n

We\u2019re all alone, not an animal stirs,<\/p>\n

Hours to go before new day.<\/p>\n

The dogs race about, noses down,<\/p>\n

Snow covered faces in the cold,<\/p>\n

Then race inside, elated,<\/p>\n

Joyously uncontrolled.<\/p>\n

Inside a warm and cheery light,<\/p>\n

Outside the muffled silence remains,
\nA cold beauty blankets all,
\nThe muffled silence remains!<\/p>\n
