A pale, ghostly sky, cold Artemis slowly sets,
\nTo the east Venus\u2026 and dire threats.
\nCold again, the grass is hard, war looms ahead,
\nThe dogs hurry, wish to eat and get back to bed.<\/p>\n

As quiet and as still as the grave,
\nIs Death about, and are we knaves?
\nShips have sailed, whole world holds its breath,
\nSanity? Or will the winner be Death?<\/p>\n

Not a noise or breath of air, but not serene,
\nRaw cold and quiet, things are seldom what they seem.
\nWe wait to see if Putin will go,
\nOr has he already won, and was this a show?<\/p>\n

And what lesson will be learned in Beijing,
\nBy that ugly Communist who would be king?
\nWill he roll the dice, and go to war,
\nOr will he wait, just as before?<\/p>\n

To the north a frightened young man,
\nDistraught, but with an evil plan,
\nAnd possessed of the state\u2019s might,
\nHas decided he alone knows what\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

And in our capital an old man, sad, tired,
\nConfused, angry and dazed,
\nPropped up and put on display,
\nSits, and waits to be told what to say.<\/p>\n

So back inside and break some bread,
\nThe puppies eat and go back to bed.
\nThen I sit down to read more news,
\nBut always I return to my Muse\u2026<\/p>\n

I see her sitting on a sandy beach,
\nSo near, but just out of reach,
\nThat vision just might save me
\nFrom this current insanity.<\/p>\n
