Author’s Note: Brilliant crescent moon, and Venus popping up – it was 14 here\u2026 And there really was a lone owl hooting away\u2026 Perhaps that was my Muse…which somehow led to thoughts of being very warm, in tropic climes\u2026<\/p>\n

My Dream<\/p>\n

A brilliant crescent Moon, under a lapis sky,
\nVenus rising in the east, heart of winter is nigh.
\nA Lone Owl call in the dark mixes with the night\u2019s chill,
\nBut else than that, nothing – dark, completely still.<\/p>\n

Frozen grass crunches under foot, snow has turned to ice,
\nAnother storm approaches, our food and fuel suffice.
\nFrozen decking groans and sighs, shrinking in arctic air,
\nThe dogs hurry back inside, each sinks into a chair.<\/p>\n

Cup of tea, study the world, man\u2019s lunacy on full display,
\nA litany of impending tragedy, must remember to pray.
\nThat is as it ever was, and sadly ever it shall be,
\nNo matter who\u2019s in charge, we always march into folly.<\/p>\n

But my thoughts are elsewhere, this cold winter morn,
\nHundreds of leagues away, to warmer shores they are borne.
\nThere my dream is sitting, staring out across the sea,
\nIn my heart I know she\u2019s waiting, and I know she thinks of me.<\/p>\n

Some day I will meet her, in warm tropic airs,
\nWe shall dance in the moonlight, an answer to my prayers.
\nBut until then she sits, and looks out across the sea,
\nStaring at the sea and waiting, and I know she thinks of me.<\/p>\n
