The other ‘role’ in the equation is the nature of life in what was our American Century. To give that matter some holiday treatment, in accordance with the Chairman\u2019s edict that we will honor the history and the immeasurable luck in which we share- living in one of the great places and times in human history. So, take this as a start to a day best devoted to friendship, gratitude for those who came before, and best wishes to those who will have to live the consequences left our astonishing time on the planet.<\/p>\n

\nHonkytonking, Little Italy & Chinatown<\/p>\n

Well, we painted the town

\nDidn\u2019t need a car, we knew the trains go to the whoopee spots
\nWhere the whiskey is cold and the piano’s hot
\nThey\u2019re more than a noisy hall, but there’s no nightly brawl
\nAnd all that jazz
\nNo slicked down hair nor buckle shoes

\nWe heard that Chris Botti was gonna blow the blues
\nAnd all that jazz
\nHold on folks, we bought hangover drugs
\nDown at Walgreen\u2019s Drug
\nIn case we need a brand new start
\nTo do that jazz
\nGot a flask, we’re playin’ fast and loose

\nIn our room is where we store the juice

\nDamn we brushed the skies
\nAs kids we never flew so high

Tuesday was an odds-n-ends day of shopping and chilling in Little Italy and Chinatown and Little Italy and honkytonking in Greenwich Village at night.<\/p>\n

\nA five-minute-long Chinatown street stare down drama between a well-fed
\nfish market resident pet cat & an uptown dog hair-parlor\u2019d frou-frou puppy:

\nCat: \u201cNot gonna happen.\u201d
\nDog: \u201cAh, come on.\u201d
\nCat: Beat it or I\u2019m gonna slash and bite you.\u201d
\nDog: \u201cPlay with me, puleeeze.\u201d
\nCat: \u201cHomey don\u2019t play that, sissy boy. Not gonna happen.\u201d
\nDog: \u201cMaster says it\u2019s time from my fresh raw beef meal. Want some?\u201d
\nCat: \u201cDumbass. I live and eat in this fresh fish market. Sigh.\u201d
\nDog and master then left. Cat de-puffed herself and was then given some fish by her monger.<\/p>\n
