Yup \u2014 two really old, white dude, trash talkers are one political party\u2019s final answers to whom they think should lead the free world. They were trolls before trolling became a thing.<\/p>\n
Who knew that Sesame Street was a political prognostication powerhouse?<\/p>\n
These two even look like their human counterparts. All four look like they should be an odd couple pulling their shifts together as front door greeters at a local Walmart.<\/p>\n
The taller one, Waldorf (aka Biden), is senile; the other, Statler (aka Saunders), is deaf and blind to the reality around him, and given the now emptied stage of bit performers, they will henceforth only have each other to regularly berate and figuratively beat up.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s very likely we will be treated to each of them bitching about how to fix what the other screwed up on his watch.<\/p>\n

Both are prone to public moments of puzzling gibberish a la the Swedish Chef muppet.<\/p>\n
So, if 45 years of Muppet Show balcony heckling is any guide, we can look forward to grumpy grandpa back-n-forth\u2019s like this one during the coming debates:<\/p>\n
Saunders: You know, Joe, I’ve been thinking.
\nBiden: Yeah, whatcha been thinking?
\nSaunders: About the younger generation.
\nBiden: What about them?
\nSaunders: Don’t know where they’re goin’!
\nBiden: You can say that again.
\nSaunders: Don’t know where they’re goin’.
\nBiden: Neither did Stalin.
\nSaunders: He’s coming, too?
\nBiden: Bernie . . . My foot’s asleep.<\/p>\n
