I’m an old school motorbike rider, you gotta understand
\nYou can see my eyes are clouding over, my face no longer tan
\nStooped back and gait hobbled by too many miles on my iron horse
\nThe road showed me a lot, so I got few things to say, of course<\/p>\n

I was pencil thin, skinnier than a potato chip
\nNot even plates of spaghetti kept biker jeans on my hips
\nNow sadly today I am a bit thicker
\nAnd on the throttle a lot less quicker
\nSo when young ‘uns ask me now about the mysteries of life
\nI don’t hem or haw, I look at em and simply reply
\n“It’s faster bikes, smoother roads,
\nAged whiskey, and more money”<\/p>\n

I grin and try to hide how much my back’s in pain
\nI know I should say, “It won’t do any good to pray for peace and rain.
\nPeace and rain are just another way to say prosperity,
\nAnd fairy tales are in the end all they are to me.”<\/p>\n

These words ain’t poetic but they’re the honest truth
\nYoungsters with souls on fire will call me a liar
\nThey don’t care for bikes, whiskey,
\nSmooth roads or the loot<\/p>\n

Well, some’re disillusioned, after I say my little piece
\nThey look like they wanna grab me and jerk me to my feet
\nWhen their pie-eyed days are over and their bodies hurt them as mine does me
\nI know they’ll see the peace and truth of my long ago words’ reality <\/p>\n
